Practice Direction 1 of 2013 – Electronic Submission and Service of Documents

Pursuant to Part 17.1(2) of the Caribbean Court of Justice (Appellate Jurisdiction) Rules 2005 as amended (“Appellate Jurisdiction Rules”) and Part 6.1(2) of the Caribbean Court of Justice (Original Jurisdiction) Rules 2006 as amended (“Original Jurisdiction Rules”) the President of the CCJ has issued Practice Direction 1 of 2013 regarding the Electronic Submission and Service of Documents. 

 

This action by the Court allows for attorneys and litigants to file their documents with the CCJ’s Registry via email address efile@caribbeancourtofjustice.org. The Practice Direction also provides for the CCJ’s Registry to serve court documents using email transmission.

 

The Practice Direction, which comes into effect today June 27th 2013, aims at further improving access to justice by “increasing efficiencies and timeliness and reducing costs.”
