President Byron and Justice Saunders to attend Commonwealth Law Conference in South Africa
The Right Hon. Sir Dennis Byron, President of the Caribbean Court of Justice, and the Hon. Mr. Justice Adrian Saunders, Judge of the Caribbean Court of Justice, will attend the 18th Commonwealth Law Conference in Cape Town, South Africa from 14-18 April, 2013.
The Commonwealth Law Conference is one of the most prestigious events on the international legal calendar.
President Byron has been invited to chair a session at the Conference entitled “Courts and Budgets: The Implications for Access to Justice”. Justice Saunders has been invited to be a speaker at another session at the Conference entitled “Unity and Diversity in the Commonwealth: Five Interesting Cases from across the Commonwealth”. Justice Saunders’ address will highlight one of the judgments of the CCJ.
This is the second visit of President Byron and Justice Saunders to the African continent for the year. In January, they were guest speakers at the Judicial Colloquium and Lawyers Training Conference in Malawi, at the invitation of the Malawi Human Rights Commission in association with the Death Penalty Project.
