Biography

Mr. Alvin Harris McIntosh, CD JP is a Hubert Humphrey Fulbright Fellow.  He holds a Master Degree in Criminology from the University of Wales, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, a Bachelor of Social Science Degree and a Teacher’s Diploma from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica.  He is currently the Chairman of the Public Service Commission and the Project Coordinator for the National Insurance Fund – Jamaica.  Mr. McIntosh worked for over twenty-nine years with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.  In 2011 he was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry until his retirement in 2014. He was also the Chief Inspector of Standards and Procedures at the Department of Correctional Services from 1976 to 1985.
